MG-4D

General : The MG-4D is a fully portable hand-held Hall effect gaussmeter designed
as a true self-contained instrument for DC and AC (RMS) magnetic field measurements.
Light and small in size, the MG-4D provides the operator with both the convenience of hand-held
portability and the accuracy associated with laboratory instruments.

Three full-scale bipolar ranges of ±100 Gauss, ±1kG and ±10kG with 100% over-range and
resolution of 0.05% provides DC and AC field readings from ±0.1 gauss to ±19.99 kG (1X probe)
with true RMS readings from 10 Hz to 20 kHz; readings are displayed on a 3 1/2 digit ±0.1% bipolar
LCD meter.

Because the MG-4D is a Hall effect instrument, a Hall Probe is required to couple with and
measure the magnetic field. A wide selection of precalibrated transverse and axial Hall probes is
available to meet most applications. The measuring range of this instrument can be extended to
150kG with select probes.

Standard features include batteries, carrying case, and a 6' extension probe cable.
A battery eliminator which can be supplied as an option, will provide for AC operation when required. Alkaline batteries can also be replaced with "AA" rechargeable batteries.

Battery Eliminator (Model CE-4D) The MG-4D gaussmeter is provided with four economical "AA" alkaline batteries which are readily available if replacement becomes necessary. The CE-4D provides for direct AC line operation without batteries.
